Trinidad González is an actress and model from Tabasco, Mexico, who made history as the first Mexican trans woman to star in a Netflix series. She landed the leading role in El Secreto del Río (2024), directed by Ernesto Contreras, Alba Gil, and Alex Zuno.
Growing up surrounded by the women in her family, Trinidad’s fascination with modeling began through fashion magazines, where she first saw reflections of her own identity in the images.
After briefly exploring careers in Communication, Marketing, and Advertising, and honing her skills as a makeup artist and hairstylist for friends, Trinidad made a bold move at 24. She relocated to Mexico City to pursue her dream of becoming a model.
A pivotal moment in her journey came during a casting for Alexander McQueen in London. A conversation with a fellow model helped her realize her discomfort with walking in men’s collections and sparked her full acceptance of her identity as a woman.
Since then, Trinidad has graced the covers of Elle México and Gay Times, and appeared in editorials for Vogue México y Latinoamérica, Attitude, Dazed, Vogue Singapore, and THEM, among others. She has also walked the runway for prestigious designers like Harris Reed and collaborated with iconic international brands such as Vivienne Westwood.
For Trinidad, acting is a deeply personal form of expression. “Bringing a character and a scene to life gives me a kind of freedom—one I may not always have in my daily life—to express my vulnerability,” she says.
